Pinhole Quilting Customers - Servicing of Machines
You must return your machine in its original box - please do not throw it away!
For most customers we recommend having your machine serviced every two years. If you use it heavily or for a business we recommend an annual service.
The only other regular maintenance that is required is a drop of oil in at the bottom of the bobbin hook assembly area every bobbin change. See below for where to oil.
When your machine is over two years old it is due a service even if it has not been used for sometime. Just like your car, even if you haven't done much mileage it still needs maintenance. Oils and greases inside the machine will dry out over time. If you are not sure if it requires a service please contact us to discuss.
Your machine will be cleaned out and internally lubricated with 6 different oils and greases. Belt tension checked and adjusted. Bearing retainers and general fixings checked for tightness. Presser and needle bar adjustment checked. Hook axial play and top shaft play checked.
It may be re timed, the hopping foot height will be checked and adjusted etc. Machine tested and stitched out. Service record sheet issued.
Courier pick up and return can be arranged by us. We will give you a quote for this based on your postcode.
For Infinity, Amara, Forte and Fusion with Pro Stitcher we may recommend that the service is done in situ. This will incur additional costs for travel but it does ensure that the machine is serviced, cleaned and checked at your location as a single unit. It also means that downtime is minimised. We have engineers in various locations around the UK as well as our main service centre at our Pershore Showroom.
For returning the machine to us for servicing:
-
Use our Booking Form or Contact Us
-
We'll arrange a date for servicing either at our showroom or at your location.
-
Pack the machine away in its original box. Include the items we've asked you to send with the machine. You can watch a video of how to prepare your machine for transport - Simply Sixteen Video.
-
We will contact you to arrange machine pick up.
-
Any additional work will be discussed. When the work is complete we'll contact you to discuss the return of your machine and issue your invoice for payment prior to despatch by credit/debit card or bank transfer.
Replacement parts if they are required will be advised before proceeding and charged at extra cost. If your machine is under Warranty the servicing costs are still chargeable. However, in some situations parts may be covered under Warranty and we will advise you if this is the case.

Maintenance Tip
Always remember to oil your hook with every bobbin change or if you haven't used your machine for a while.
(The hook has been removed from the machine to show the place you oil it more clearly - the hook is fixed in place!)
